19 Dec Spotlight on The Victoria Theatre
Think Christmas is cancelled this year? Oh no it’s not! That’s the clear message from Victoria Theatre, home to the wonderful Christmas pantomime. It’s very much business as usual at this Halifax institution, hosting a year-round programme of big names in entertainment, music and comedy.
Right now, it’s all about that Christmas panto, with Jack and the Beanstalk running from December 11th to January 2nd. Quality is the name of the game, with dazzling creativity and fabulous production taking centre stage, even if your favourite Hollywood star isn’t! As for the atmosphere, it’s going to be electric. That’s partly because the show is so good, and partly thanks to the theatre’s current policy of running at full capacity. Don’t be nervous though – to keep things safe they ask every visitor for proof of vaccination or a negative lateral flow test, and the response has been fantastic (thank you, Halifax folk, you can take a bow for that).
In addition to panto, other seasonal highlights include an evening of entertainment from the 200-year-old Halifax Choral Society, with traditional carols and brass band music from the Black Dyke Band. It’s the perfect way to get that fuzzy festive feeling! Meanwhile, kids up to 6 years old will love Santa’s Magical Mystery Guest, plus they’ll get to meet the man himself and even receive a gift from him.
Great value is always on the bill here, with pricing kept keen and annual membership from just £35 – a good way to save if you if you plan to revisit. Sign up now and you can save £25 off panto tickets for a family of up to five. There are deals on refreshments too, with 20% off pre-show dining at nearby Alibi bar and restaurant, and affordable drinks available on site.
