Spotlight on La Luna

Spotlight on La Luna

When a restaurant’s been serving its community for two whole decades, you know it’s doing something well – that’s la Luna.  This family-owned business in the Westgate Arcade has a loyal local following as well as delighting diners from far out of town, and its glowing reputation is very well deserved.

The menu here is packed with family favourites covering breakfast, brunch, lunch or evening meals, with the same delicious quality and freshness whatever dish you go for.   You’ll find everything from stone baked pizzas and crab or prawn linguini through to classic and inventive mains, steaks and grills.  Want something a little less formal?  How about a sensational burger with halloumi fries, or some nibbles and small plates for sharing.  There are sandwiches, burgers and salads too, all made with the restaurant’s signature attention to detail.  Been so often you’ve tried everything?  Impossible!  And anyway, there are ‘chalk board’ specials that change every week – perfect for something seasonal and different.

As for desserts – save some space!  Get past the sticky toffee pudding and you’ll find all sorts of other irresistible treats like profiteroles, tiramisu and lemon meringue pie. Drinks are important here too, of course, and the carefully curated wine list has something for everyone, including festive fizz if you’re celebrating.

It’s not just the food that makes la Luna a winner – the service is excellent here too, with local owner, Tony, determined to make this a warm and welcoming venue.  Speaking of which, if you’re worried about being indoors right now, you can always eat outside in the covered and heated alfresco area. So, great food, a fantastic menu and staff who’ll really take care of you, all from a restaurant whose name means ‘the moon’.  This place really is out of this world!
