New Funding Available to Help Halifax Businesses Improve Their Shopfronts!
At Discover Halifax, we’re always looking for ways to support our local businesses and make our town centre even more inviting. That’s why we’re excited to launch the Shop Front Improvement Scheme—a new initiative offering match-funding of up to £500 to help businesses enhance their shopfronts!
Whether it’s a fresh coat of paint, new signage, improved window displays, or decorative touches like planters and lighting, small improvements can make a big difference in attracting customers and making Halifax a more vibrant place to visit.
How Does It Work?
- We’ll match up to 50% of your improvement costs, up to £500.
- You choose how to enhance your shopfront—as long as it’s an external improvement that boosts the appearance of your business.
- Funding is provided upfront so you can start your improvements straight away.
- It’s quick and easy to apply!

How to Apply
Applying is simple—just follow these three steps:
- Read our Application Guide to check eligibility and requirements.
- Fill out the Application Form with details of your planned improvements.
- Submit your completed Application
We’ll review applications on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait too long! You’ll hear back from us within 4 weeks of applying.
What Happens Next?
If your application is approved:
- You’ll receive funding upfront so you can begin your improvements.
- You’ll have 3 months to complete this work
- Once completed, you’ll need to submit photos and receipts to confirm the funds have been used as planned.
