Hello from the Halifax BID Team! As the current situation regarding coronavirus is having an increasing impact on us all we have pulled together some information you, as a business, need to know at this time. We also wanted to make all of our levy payers aware that the Halifax BID has not ceased working on your behalf in this short term situation, in fact quite the opposite, we want to show an united front and offer help and support in these difficult times.
This newsletter will go through information that has come straight from the Government and NHS England to ensure you have the most up to date and more importantly the accurate information and guidelines. There’s a lot of ‘fake news’ out there so we at the BID wish to ensure you have the correct knowledge in order to get through this period and be even stronger on the other side. NHS England Guidelines
A top priority is for everyone to stay safe and well. If you have any symptoms of the coronavirus please follow the advice given from NHS England, link provided below. It is paramount that everyone follows the hand washing and high standards of hygiene guidelines and self-isolate if you think you have come into contact with the virus to help limit the spread of it.
The NHS has up to date information so please familiarise yourself with it and ensure your staff members, family and friends are following the same advice to keep us all safe.

Normality Will Resume
Despite the current climate it is vitally important for everyone’s health and well-being to try and stay positive. We understand at this time of uncertainty it can be very difficult to think positively but with everyone’s support and guidance we can weather the storm together and remember this will pass.
In the short term it’s important to try think outside the box and re-model your business to fit the current situation. For example; if you are a restaurant owner and people have been advised not to go to restaurants then why not offer a delivery takeaway service instead? Adapting now will help your business continue in the coming weeks until normality is resumed, and it will resume so try and keep a clear, positive head in amongst all the panic.
It is important as business owners, employers and employees to stay well-informed on the up to date advice and guidelines to protect everyone. The guidance sets out those whose work is critical to the coronavirus response and keeping crucial public services going. Employers need to be responsible about who needs to be in the office and we encourage them to help their staff find alternative arrangements to support them working from home.

We have taken the Government advice to reschedule events for later on in the year to ensure we are not encouraging large gatherings which is spreading this infectious virus. However, that does not mean that we are not still working hard to deliver the BID business plan!
