There are plenty of other great things happening too, from organ recitals at magnificent Halifax Minister through to vintage bus and walking tours led by Halifax Heritage Tours. Of course, all our favourite iconic and historic venues are open to the public for the festival, including The Piece Hall. Town Hall and Bankfield Museum, not to mention Shibden Hall of Gentleman Jack fame. Lots of our historic and listed buildings are offering a once-a-year chance to go behind the scenes too, granting access to areas normally closed to the public.

Last but not least, don’t forget to read the special edition festival newspaper, because we’ve included fascinating contributions from local people who share their personal experience of growing up hereabouts in years gone by. They can certainly tell a story or two!
