Event Match-Funding Applications Now Open

Funding Available: Up to £1,000 per event

From today, applications are officially open for the next round of Discover Halifax’s Event Match-Funding Scheme. This funding supports levy-paying businesses to deliver public events that attract footfall, encourage collaboration, and make Halifax town centre an even better place to visit.

What is the Event Match-Funding Scheme?

  • Eligible businesses can apply for up to £1,000 in match funding to support events that are:
  • Open to the public
  • Collaborative – involving or benefiting multiple businesses
  • Designed to increase footfall and raise the town’s profile
  • Aligned with Discover Halifax’s mission to make the town more vibrant and welcoming
  • Successful applicants receive 50% of the funding in advance to help cover upfront costs.

Who Can Apply?

To apply, businesses must:

  • Be located within the Halifax BID area
  • Be up to date with their levy payments
  • Be organising a collaborative event
  • Deliver the event between July and September 2025. If this timeline doesn’t quite fit your plans, please get in touch with the team – we’re happy to review events on a case-by-case basis to see if they’re eligible.

What Kind of Events Are Eligible?

Some examples of eligible events include:

  • Seasonal markets or themed late-night shopping
  • Street performances, trails, or creative workshops
  • Community festivals or cultural activities
  • Joint promotions or cross-business loyalty initiatives

How to Apply:

  • Prepare your event plan, budget, and expected outcomes
  • Submit your application form online
  • Deliver your event in the BID area
  • Submit your report, invoices, and photos to claim final payment
