Discover Halifax Annual Report 2025–26: A Year Supporting Businesses and Promoting the Town Centre

We’re pleased to share the Discover Halifax Annual Report 2025–26, highlighting the work delivered over the past year to support businesses and promote Halifax town centre.

Despite ongoing national pressures and disruption caused by the A629 improvement works, Halifax has remained a vibrant destination for visitors, workers and residents. Over the past year, Discover Halifax has continued to focus on promoting the town centre, supporting local businesses and improving the visitor experience.

Some of the key highlights include:

  • Town centre events and trails such as the Dino Trail, Pumpkin Patch and Christmas activities which helped drive footfall and encourage people to explore Halifax.
  • Business support initiatives  including the Discover Halifax Gift Card, Fiver Fest, the Shop Front Improvement Scheme and the Event Match-Funding Scheme.
  • Improving the town centre environment through a Street Ranger trial focused on cleaning, maintenance and rapid response to issues.
  • Skills and training opportunities for levy-paying businesses through free access to the SEEDL training platform.

Looking ahead, 2026 will be an important year as Discover Halifax prepares for the BID ballot to secure a third five-year term, ensuring continued investment in the town centre and ongoing support for local businesses.
