Our Focus
Working together as businesses and the community to build Halifax into an inspirational and welcoming destination for business, leisure and culture. To secure Halifax’s place on the map both regionally and nationally, building upon its heritage, supporting the generations and looking to its future.
Who We Are
Discover Halifax are funded by the levy paying businesses within the Halifax Town Centre. Our vision is to develop Halifax into a recognised destination for business, leisure, and culture, known for being family-friendly, welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of its heritage while looking to the future.
We work with businesses and key partners to address the needs of the town and the businesses within it.
We work towards the following three objectives.
- Vibrant and Promoted
- Welcoming and Safe
- A Place to Grow and Invest
Business Improvement District (BID’s) are voted in by businesses within a set boundary, with each term lasting 5 years. At the end of each term businesses are invited to vote again. Discover Halifax are currently two years into term two, having initially been voted in in 2017.
Discover Halifax Hub
Discover Halifax identified the need for a space to promote our town, its businesses, and its amazing heritage. We set up our Hub, which opened in July 2021, on a trial period. It soon became apparent that this was a much-needed service. The Hub is a great place for locals and visitors to learn about events and places to visit in our beautiful town. It also allows us to showcase the wide variety of businesses in Halifax by displaying leaflets, maps and local information.
Pop in and visit our friendly team. We are located in the Woolshops Shopping Centre, across from Specsavers.
