About High Parasite
High Parasite is not just another side project—it’s a bold new band ready to make waves in the world of gothic music. With their debut album Forever We Burn, released in September 2024 via Candlelight / Spinefarm, High Parasite blends powerful riffs, dark synths, and thought-provoking lyrics into a unique sound they call “death pop.”
Led by the iconic Aaron Stainthorpe, frontman of My Dying Bride, and Tombs, bassist/vocalist/songwriter, High Parasite brings decades of experience and fresh energy to the gothic music scene. Their live performances are described as intense and immersive, with a sound that bridges the gap between gothic rock, metal, and industrial music.
“Skating the lines between metal, Gothic rock, and dark synth pop, High Parasite is here and Death Pop is born!” – Aaron Stainthorpe
Support Act: Icon 13
Opening the night is Icon 13, a local band well-loved in Halifax for their electrifying performances and raw, gothic-inspired sound. With their roots in Halifax’s alternative music scene, Icon 13 is the perfect complement to High Parasite, promising an unforgettable start to the festival’s live music line-up.
