Halifax Gifting Tree Initiative
We’re so pleased to bring back the Halifax Gifting Tree Initiative this Christmas. After the success of last year, we’re inviting the wonderful people of Halifax to help us spread a little joy to local children who need it most this festive season.
It’s simple – and really means a lot. Just visit one of our participating locations, pick up a star-shaped tag with a child’s name and age, buy a gift that’s just right for them, and return it to the tree. Your thoughtful donation will go directly to local charities like Mothershare, Calderdale Lighthouse, Calderdale Cares, The Children’s Ward at Calderdale Hospital, St Augustine’s, Focus 4 Hope, and more.
Where to Find a Gifting Tree:
- Discover Halifax Hub
- Barrhead Travel Halifax
- Halifax Borough Market
- Halifax Minster
- The Old Cock
- The Old Post Office
- The Lewins
- The Royal Oak
- McCaffertys
- Sunny Play Gym
How it Works:
- Pick a Tag: Head to any of the Gifting Tree locations and grab a star tag with a child’s name and age on it.
- Buy a Gift: Choose a gift that fits the age of the child. It doesn’t have to be fancy – just something you know will make them smile.
- Return the Gift: When you’ve got your gift, bring it back to the same location or The Discover Halifax Hub. The sooner the better, but the final collection date is December 20th so we can get everything wrapped up and delivered in time for Christmas.
- Make a Difference: Your gift will go to a local charity, helping a child who could really use it this year.
Christmas is all about giving, and by taking part in the Gifting Tree, you’re not just spreading cheer – you’re also supporting our brilliant local businesses. It’s a small act that can make a world of difference to a child’s Christmas.
Thank you for your kindness – it really does make Halifax that much brighter this Christmas.
