Our Focus

Working together as businesses and the community to build Halifax into an inspirational and welcoming destination for business, leisure and culture. To secure Halifax’s place on the map both regionally and nationally, building upon its heritage, supporting the generations and looking to its future.

Who We Are

Discover Halifax is a Business Improvement District, which is funded by the levy paying businesses within the Halifax Town Centre. Our vision is to develop Halifax into a recognised destination for business, leisure, and culture, known for being family-friendly, welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of its heritage while looking to the future.

We work with businesses and key partners to address the needs of the town and the businesses within it.

We work towards the following three objectives.

A Place to Grow and Invest

Business Improvement District (BID’s) are voted in by businesses within a set boundary, with each term lasting 5 years. At the end of each term businesses are invited to vote again. Discover Halifax are currently in their fourth year of term two, having initially been voted in in 2017. Discover Halifax is currently undertaking the formal renewal process for a third term, which if successful at ballot will run from 2027 – 2032.
